Our SEND Program
is a way for individuals, Sunday School Classes, Mission Groups, Ladies
Groups, or even whole Vacation Bible School Programs to partner with
our work in Guatemala by collecting and sending various items that are
useful in our ministry. Here's what you can do:
1. Determine which items you would like to collect from our list.
2. Set up a date for the collection of the items and announce it to your group/church.
3.
Print up a list of the items and decorate a collection box to be placed
in your church lobby or Sunday School class. Please contact us if you
would like some pictures or HOPE information for your box.
4. SEND
the items to our HOPE Office Manager, Denise Headdings, at the address
below. Because shipping to Guatemala is expensive and not reliable,
Denise facilitates the items coming down to us through teams and
individuals traveling to Guatemala.

Most Frequently Asked Questions about SEND:
Q: Why do you request TRAVEL SIZE items; wouldn't larger sizes be more useful and cost effective?
A. Our
airplanes are small and only carry 800 pounds of people weight and
supplies and we often have to walk various distances carrying our gear.
Travel items help us pack light and save valuable weight on our flights
and our backs!
Q. How are the craft items used?
A. The
craft items are mostly used in our Teacher training programs to make
lesson visuals. Each month they make their own memory verse game and
lesson visuals to use in their churches because they have no other
resources. On some occasions, like our VBS programs, we have literally
hundreds of kids so even with very simple crafts, we use up a lot of
crayons and supplies.
Q. Can we ONLY send things on your list?
A. The items listed are those things we use on a regular basis but please call or email Deb Carey for other suggestions at deb@h-b-m.com. Sometimes
we need items for a specific purpose like gifts for our students
getting a certificate or for a special craft like making a Bible puppet.
